January 2025 Meeting

February 1, 2016 By Matt Grant 2 Comments

ATTN: MEETING IS NOW THIS FRIDAY joined with C.A.S.!
For this meeting, we are moving up to Jan 3rd to meet at CAS’s meeting location. They wanted us to join with theirs on this one.
The location is at.
Hope United Methodist Church,
6101 South Dayton Street
Greenwood Village, CO 80111
at 7:00pm
Our own Kevin Fehringer will be updating us on the C.A.R.E.S. program! Doctors, and universities, realized, that the best way to keep endangered species alive and well, were in fact aquarium hobbyists! If you do not know CARES is a program that is run by hobbyists such as yourselves, to dedicate at least one tank for the sole purpose of keeping a single species alive from going extinct. A lot of common fish are in the CARES program. Just because you see that fish a lot around in the hobby, does not mean it’s common in the wild, and could be close to extinct in nature. So this program helps keep track of who is keeping what fish to help keep track of the species conservation. Kevin will be explaining this in detail, and we are now making the January meetings, our “annual CARES update meeting”
We are also trying to bring in fish from www.davesfish.com for the mini-auction, with rare CARES listed only species. We will update you later on that.

    Hello!
I’ve been unable to participate in the club for the last year or so and with COVID trying to find out if the club is currently still meeting once a month and if there will be any auctions in the near future? I tried to find some sort of contact information on this site, but this comment in the President’s message is about the only form of contact I could find, hopefully I hear something back from someone. Looking forward to trying to get involved again! Thanks!

Yes we do still meet every month. I post the meetings in the “Event” section of the page. I just now figured out this comments thing, I did not even know this site had this feature. Sorry for the 3 year late reply lol.
